Lar National Park to Open to Public

TEHRAN-The director of the Shemiranat Environmental Protection Office, Firouz Akbari Falahi, has stated that the Lar National Park would be opened to the public.

According to the Environmental Protection Organization, a bill has been approved designating the Lar nature reserve a national park. It occupies an area of 28,000 hectares.

The law prohibits camping and fishing in the park in order to prevent water pollution.

Akbari Falahi said that visitors should observe environmental regulations and refrain from polluting the park.

He added that all scientific research projects and tourist programs would be carried out according to the guidelines of the Environmental Protection Organization.

About 150 species of bird live in Lar National Park.
